Job summary

Georgiou Group, part of STRABAG SE, seeks a Senior Environmental Advisor for our Far North Queensland delivery team, starting with the Cairns DRFA Stage 1 Project. You will lead practical environmental leadership across multiple fronts, ensuring compliance with approvals, licences and obligations.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated environmental experience within civil construction or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 14001 and environmental legislation.
• Experience implementing Construction Environmental Management Plans and monitoring programs.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Current Driver's Licence and White Card.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and continual improvement of the Project Construction Environmental Management Plan, supporting sub-plans, procedures and systems.
• Provide practical environmental advice to site supervision and construction teams, including reviewing work methodologies and supporting pre-starts and toolbox sessions.
• Manage environmental monitoring programs, including air, noise, vibration, water quality and waste, and report on performance.
• Maintain compliance tracking for environmental licences, permits, approvals and planning conditions.
• Conduct environmental inspections, audits and reviews, investigate incidents and support the close-out of corrective actions.
• Prepare environmental approval application documentation and monitor changes to relevant legislation and project obligations.
• Build effective relationships with the client, regulatory authorities, community stakeholders and project partners.
• Coach and mentor project team members to strengthen environmental awareness, capability and performance.
