Job summary

Talison Lithium is seeking an experienced Environmental Compliance Specialist to join the Greenbushes Operation. You will provide expert guidance on regulatory, licensing, permitting, and reporting across Processing, Tailings and Water Infrastructure, ensuring licence monitoring compliance and accurate stakeholder reporting.

You will work with a team to promote best practice, deliver training, and coordinate monitoring data analysis, with a focus on safety, environment and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Tertiary degree in Environment, Engineering, Earth Sciences or equivalent.
• Minimum of five years’ relevant experience within the mining or heavy industry sectors.
• Strong technical expertise in environmental management, monitoring, and compliance.
• Thorough understanding and practical application of environmental legislation, standards, and regulatory frameworks.
• Experienced in implementing and maintaining environmental management systems, including the development and review of procedures and plans for effective execution.

Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Environmental Advisor – Processing in providing advice on regulatory, licensing, permitting, and compliance matters across the Processing, Tailings, and Water Infrastructure departments.
• Work collaboratively within a team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Assist in investigations into safety and environmental incidents, ensuring corrective actions are identified, assigned, and closed out in a timely manner.
• Periodically assist the Environmental monitoring team to perform monitoring as directed.
• Manage, validate and appropriately record environmental monitoring data to analyse trends and potential risks.
• Assist in development and delivery of safety and environmental training programs, including toolbox talks, to promote awareness and best practices across the workforce.
• Conduct site tours and provide accurate safety and environmental information to internal and external stakeholders as required.
• Prepare and submit statutory and internal reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to relevant legislation and organisational protocols.
• Coordinate the activities of consultants and contractors to ensure alignment with safety objectives and business plan outcomes.
• Contribute to budget planning through accurate forecasting of safety-related expenditure.

About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Environmental Advisor - Processing, the successful candidate will provide expert support and guidance on regulatory, licensing, permitting, and compliance matters for Talison Lithium’s Greenbushes Operation. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with environmental licence monitoring requirements and working closely with the monitoring team. As a key contributor to Talison Lithium’s environmental performance, the position influences best practice and service delivery across the Site.

About the Candidate

• strong written and verbal communication skills with proven experience in engaging stakeholders and working collaboratively across diverse environments; and
• proficient in the use of spreadsheets, databases, and word processing applications for reporting and data management.

The incumbent should have the following competencies:

• current ‘C’ class Drivers Licence; and
