Job summary

UGL Transport is seeking a senior sustainability lead to establish governance and reporting under the Corporations Act and manage environmental programs. You will collaborate with Operational leaders and HSEQ teams to drive initiatives, oversee ESG compliance, and mentor sites in sustainability best practices across projects.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with ESG reporting requirements including directors declarations and submission review requirements.
  • Drive a culture of contemporary thinking and best practice across UGL Transport to address the needs of customers and communities regarding Sustainability.
  • Increase understanding of sustainability through education programs aligned with the Sustainability Strategy.
  • Promote understanding of risks and opportunities related to sustainability across UGL Transport, ensuring balanced long-term decision making.
  • Ensure Business Units adopt systems, policies and targets from concept through to operation to meet customer requirements and grow profit and market share.
  • Support tender reviews and provide technical input to EOI, RFPs and tenders with a strong understanding of sustainability goals and stakeholder requirements.
  • Maintain systems and practices for continuing certification to ISO14001 Standards.
  • Ensure resources of suitable competence are available for implementing sustainability requirements across all projects and sites.
  • Represent and advocate sustainable outcomes within the industry on behalf of UGL Transport.
  • Ensure projects and sites are prepared for and can respond to sustainability events and emergencies.
  • Monitor, measure and evaluate sustainability performance to drive continuous improvement.

Job Purpose

This role is for the management of UGL Transport's approach to Environment & Sustainability as the recognized subject matter expert. This role will be responsible for the establishment and implementation of sustainability governance and reporting arrangements in accordance with the Corporations Act as well as the management of operational environmental programs.

The role will also involve working with the Operational leaders and HSEQ teams on the development of key initiatives in the area of sustainability, as well as liaising with shareholder representatives on common issues and programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with the respective legislated ESG reporting requirements including directors declarations and submission review requirements
  • Drive a culture of contemporary thinking and best practice across UGL Transport to address the needs of our customers and communities regarding Sustainability
  • Increase UGL Transport's understanding of sustainability through education programs that are aligned with UGL Transport's Sustainability Strategy
  • Promote the understanding of risks and opportunities related to sustainability across UGL Transport, ensuring well balanced long-term decision making is consistently applied
  • Ensure Business Units adopt UGL Transport's systems, strategies, policies, objectives and targets from concept planning through to design, procurement, construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance to meet customer requirements and help increase profit and market share
  • Support the tender review process and provide technical input to EOI, RFPs and tenders, demonstrating a strong understanding of sustainability goals, rating schemes and other related stakeholder requirements.
  • Maintain systems and practices for the continuing certification to the ISO14001 Standards
  • Ensure the necessary support (including resources of suitable levels of competence) is available for the effective implementation of UGL Transport's sustainability requirements across all projects and sites
  • Represent and advocate sustainable outcomes within the industry on behalf of UGL Transport
  • Ensure UGL Transport projects and sites are prepared for and can adequately respond to sustainability events and emergencies
  • Monitor, measure and evaluate UGL Transport sites' and projects' sustainability performance in order to support the continuous improvement of UGL Transport's systems and practice
