Qualifications

  • We’re seeking an Engineering degree or relevant trade qualification.
  • Cert IV in OHS is desirable.
  • Extensive experience leading electrical construction activities within transport, rail, or infrastructure environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships across large teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and delivery of engineering and construction activities, ensuring safety, quality, cost, and schedule objectives are achieved.
  • Coordinate and stage construction works across greenfield and brownfield rail environments.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and operational teams to deliver successful project outcomes.
  • Manage construction administration, including workforce planning and roster coordination.
  • Ensure projects are resourced, including forecasting future workforce, plant, and equipment requirements.
  • Monitor progress, costs, and performance, providing accurate reporting and forecasting.
  • Foster positive team engagement and support development and performance of project personnel.
  • Coordinate construction resource requirements to support current and future project objectives.
  • Contribute to tender submissions, client presentations, and business development activities when required.
  • Champion a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with WHSE requirements.
  • Support environmental sustainability initiatives and comply with licence conditions.
  • Maintain accurate project records and documentation.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of engineering and construction activities across transport infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a collaborative and solutions-focused professional who enjoys working in a dynamic project environment and contributing to complex rail and transport outcomes. You will work closely with project teams, stakeholders, and operational leaders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

About You
  • We’re interested in people who bring a combination of technical expertise, leadership capability, and a commitment to delivering great outcomes.
  • You may be successful in this role if you have A degree in Engineering or a relevant trade qualification.
  • Cert IV in OHS (desirable).
  • Extensive experience leading electrical construction activities within transport, rail, or infrastructure environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • The ability to build effective working relationships across a wide range of teams and stakeholders.
  • Proven experience managing competing priorities and delivering outcomes in fast-paced project environments.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
