Job summary

CITEC is seeking an enthusiastic IT professional to support critical Queensland Government platforms with advanced Unix/Linux administration and security-focused initiatives. You will work across enterprise environments, applying patches, managing vulnerabilities and shaping resilient, compliant solutions for government services.

You will collaborate with experienced colleagues, mentor others and pursue certifications while delivering reliable, scalable technology that keeps essential services

Qualifications

• Experience in enterprise Unix/Linux system administration.
• Strong capability in patching, vulnerability management and compliance.
• Ability to identify, assess and mitigate technical risks.
• Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving in complex ICT environments.
• Ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced Unix/Linux system administration and technical advice to Government customers.
• Support secure and reliable services across RHEL, Oracle Solaris and Oracle Linux.
• Drive operating system patching, vulnerability management, compliance and risk mitigation.
• Contribute to customer onboarding, solution design and emerging technologies.
• Mentor junior team members and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Build expertise through certification and ongoing professional development.
