Job summary

Verkada is expanding rapidly in Sydney and the JAPAC region. We are seeking a Technical Support Engineer to own and resolve challenging issues across Verkada’s product suite for enterprise customers.

You will dive into complex environments, troubleshoot systems, and educate customers and partners on best practices. On-site presence in Sydney five days per week is required to thrive in our collaborative office.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in a Technical Support Engineering or IT role.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Networking, Telecommunications, Systems Administration, IT, CS, CE, Electrical Eng, or Cybersecurity.
• Strong understanding of network fundamentals: HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, NAT, DHCP, 802.11, firewalls, Ethernet/Cabling, PoE.
• Experience with Linux, APIs, Python or other coding languages is a plus.
• Ability to communicate complex technical matters both orally and in writing.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCNA, CCENT, CCDA, CWNP, CWNA, MCSE, CEH, Network+, Security+, A+ are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Full-stack troubleshooting of the Verkada platform across network, hardware, software, and electrical issues.
• Provide best practice design, installation, and configuration guidance to enterprise customers.
• Communicate technical matters clearly to customers, both orally and in writing.
• Own customer issues from creation to resolution.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product to test products and identify bugs.
• Write technical knowledge base articles and whitepapers.
• Stay up to date on Verkada products and industry technologies.
• Build tools and processes that scale with the team.
