Job summary

DWS is seeking an experienced Solution Architect - Observability to define and execute an Enterprise Observability Strategy, shaping the architecture across infrastructure, cloud, platform and application environments. This role requires banking sector experience and will drive standards, patterns and governance for observability.

The position is hybrid with 2-3 days onsite, Melbourne/Sydney, max-term 12 months, ACN eligibility. Start 1 December.

Qualifications

• Must have professional experience in a major banking environment.
• Experience delivering architecture across enterprise infrastructure and SRE or observability.
• Knowledge of governance, security, reliability in enterprise banking.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale observability and monitoring architectures.
• Ability to balance strategic architecture with practical implementation.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management with senior tech stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define current-state and target-state observability architecture.
• Develop observability principles, standards and patterns.
• Embed observability across infrastructure, cloud, platform and applications.
• Assess and rationalise monitoring and observability capabilities.
• Drive SLIs, SLOs and SRE practices.
• Engage with Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, Applications, SRE, Security and Engineering.
• Provide vendor-agnostic guidance on observability tooling.
