Job summary

Macquarie University is hiring a Data Analysis Officer to join the Business Intelligence and Reporting (BIR) team. You will support enterprise analytics and reporting that informs decisions at the highest levels.

Reporting to the Lead Data Analyst, you’ll work with analysts, data engineers and IT specialists to improve data quality, build reporting solutions and translate technical findings into plain-language insights for senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in a related field or equivalent knowledge
• Experience using Alteryx, SQL, AWS, Power BI/Tableau and MS Office
• Experience delivering data analytics solutions in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
• Experience analyzing data from relational and non-relational sources to enable evidence-based decision making
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Good organisational and time-management skills with ability to meet deadlines and document procedures

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Data Analyst in enterprise analytics and reporting
• Review databases and systems to ensure data accessibility and meaningful insights
• Assess data sources to identify gaps and verify accuracy
• Provide guidance on analytics platforms and technologies
• Assist in design, implementation and operation of analytics platforms
• Monitor performance and capacity of services and resources
• Coordinate with rankings and research data providers
• Contribute to process improvements and knowledge sharing
