Job summary

Macquarie University is seeking a Data Analysis Officer to join the Business Intelligence and Reporting (BIR) team. The role informs high-level decisions through enterprise analytics and reporting, contributing to data quality and transformation initiatives across the university.

You will work with data engineers, analysts, and IT specialists to deliver insights, support rankings submissions, and improve data-driven decision-making within a visible, cross-portfolio context.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in a related field or equivalent knowledge and experience.
• Experience with data analytics solutions in multi-stakeholder environments.
• Experience analyzing relational and non-relational datasets to enable evidence-based decision-making.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to document procedures and maintain support documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver enterprise analytics and reporting solutions, as part of BAU work and Digital Transformation projects.
• Review databases and systems to ensure data is accessible and can be meaningfully collated, producing accurate insights for clients and stakeholders.
• Assess data sources to identify gaps and verify accuracy and consistency.
• Provide advice and guidance on analytics platforms and technologies, including resolving issues to improve efficiency.
• Contribute to design, implementation and operation of analytics platforms, liaising with stakeholders and ensuring standards and processes are followed.
• Monitor, analyse and report on availability, performance and capacity of services and resources; suggest improvements to improve delivery.
• Liaise with rankings and research data providers to support submissions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of processes, standards and procedures, and maintain documentation for reliability.
• Help build data analytics capability across the University and contribute to knowledge sharing.
