Job summary

SA Health in Adelaide is seeking an Enrolled Nurse to join the Modbury Hospital Emergency Department on a part-time basis.

Working under Registered Nurses and the ED team, you will deliver evidence-based nursing care, document accurately, escalate changes in patient condition, and collaborate to support safe patient flow and discharge planning in a busy emergency service. The role is ongoing, 28 hours per week, with pro rata salary and benefits.

An exciting opportunity is presented to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as an Enrolled Nurse within the Modbury Hospital Emergency Department.

Modbury Hospital's Emergency Department is a busy, community-facing service at the heart of Adelaide's northern suburbs. If you're an Enrolled Nurse ready to build real emergency care expertise in a supportive team, this part-time ongoing role is worth your attention.

Your Role in the Department

Working under the direction of Registered Nurses and the broader ED multidisciplinary team, you'll contribute directly to the assessment, planning, and delivery of care for patients presenting across the full spectrum of emergency presentations. Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering evidence-based, person-centred nursing care within your scope of practice in a fast-moving emergency environment
• Accurate documentation and timely escalation of changes in patient condition
• Collaborating with RNs, medical officers, and allied health to support safe patient flow and discharge planning
• Contributing to a culture of safety, learning, and continuous quality improvement within the unit

What You'll Bring

• Experience in an acute or emergency care setting, or demonstrated ability to work effectively in a high-acuity environment
• Sound clinical communication skills and confidence in escalation frameworks such as ISBAR
• Commitment to working within NALHN's care standards and the SA Health nursing practice framework
• Ability to work rotating shifts including nights and weekends as part of a part-time roster
• A current national police clearance or willingness to obtain one

To be eligible for this position, you must be registered or eligible for registration as an enrolled nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate. In order to administer medicines, must have completed a Board-approved program of study which includes an administration of medicines unit.
