Job summary

Canberra Surgicentre is seeking an Enrolled Nurse to join our Day Hospital team in Braddon, ACT. The role focuses on pre-admission work, intraoperative support, and post-operative care within a modern, dental and maxillofacial setting.

Key responsibilities include scheduling, pre-admission assessments, patient information delivery, instrument processing, and strict infection control. The position runs Monday to Friday, 7:30am–5:00pm, with no weekends or night shifts.

Qualifications

• Must hold current Enrolled Nurse and AHPRA registration.
• Experience in theatre/day surgery/dental/perioperative settings preferred.
• Supports patients throughout the surgical journey.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient surgery bookings and scheduling.
• Conduct pre-admission assessments and patient checks.
• Provide pre-operative patient information and support.
• Assist within the operating theatre environment (scouting).
• Process and sterilise reusable medical instruments.
• Maintain infection prevention and control standards.
• Support the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.

Canberra Surgicentre is seeking a motivated and compassionate Enrolled Nurse to join our specialist Day Hospital team in Braddon.

Our accredited Day Hospital provides a range of oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures, including complex wisdom tooth removals, dental extractions, dental implant surgery, and other minor oral surgical procedures. Surgeries are performed under IV sedation and general anaesthetic in a modern, patient-focused environment.

As an Enrolled Nurse, you will play an important role in supporting patients throughout their surgical journey. Key responsibilities include:

• Managing patient surgery bookings and scheduling
• Conducting pre-admission assessments and patient checks
• Providing pre-operative patient information and support
• Assisting within the operating theatre environment (scouting)
• Processing and sterilising reusable medical instruments
• Maintaining infection prevention and control standards
• Supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care

Working Days-Monday to Friday 7:30am to 5:00pm, No weekends or nightshift

Please note, applicants must be aCurrent Enrolled Nurse and AHPRA registered

Previous experience in theatre, day surgery, dental, or perioperative settings will be highly regarded
