Job summary

Wesley Mission Queensland Limited is seeking an Enrolled Nurse for Hopewell Hospice on the Gold Coast, delivering holistic care in a palliative setting alongside a multidisciplinary team.

You will monitor and document patient status, administer medications, support care plans, and assist in staff orientation while ensuring dignity and well-being for guests and families.

Qualifications

• AHPRA registration is required.
• Ability to deliver high-level nursing care within Enrolled Nurse scope.
• Demonstrated passion for community-focused hospice care.
• Discretion, confidentiality and professionalism are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic care to guests alongside Registered Nurses and Personal Care Workers.
• Deliver care following care plans and under clinical supervision.
• Observe, monitor, document, and report signs and symptoms.
• Administer medications as prescribed.
• Contribute to care plan formulation and implementation.
• Assist in orienting new staff.
• Support guests with daily living and social participation.

Your Role as Enrolled Nurse

• You’ll provide holistic care to guests at Hopewell Hospice working alongside Registered Nurses and Personal Care Workers.
• Deliver holistic care and support to guests and families accessing the service, following relevant care plans and under the supervision of the clinical team.
• Observe, monitor, interpret, document and report signs and symptoms.
• Medication administration.
• Contribute to the formulation and implementation of care plans.
• Assist in the orientation of new staff.
• Support guests with all aspects of daily living, including but not restricted to, personal care, associated light domestic duties and social/community participation.
• Provide guests with a physically and emotionally secure environment and promote their physical, intellectual, emotional, social, cultural and spiritual well-being.

• AHPRA Registration.
• Ability to provide high level nursing care within the Enrolled Nurse Scope of Practice.
• Demonstrated passion and commitment to connecting the community to the mission and vision of Hopewell Hospice.
• The ability to maintain confidentiality, discretion and professionalism ensuring that the dignity and rights of guests and families are respected at all times.
• Proven high level teamwork and collaboration skills to achieve objectives and promote positive working relationships.
• Enthusiasm and highly effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Experience in supporting people with illness and complex and chronic care needs.

Essential Requirements

• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status (or as required by legislation and WMQ policy).
• Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ Limited policy.
• Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel for work.
