Job summary

Innova Water Pty Ltd is seeking an Engineering Technologist to join our Brisbane team, focusing on testing, commissioning and implementation of process systems. This hands-on role combines office analysis with site activities and collaboration with our Senior Process Engineer and multidisciplinary teams.

You will analyse existing treatment processes, size equipment, prepare PFDs/P&IDs and support commissioning activities across water and wastewater projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering Technology (AQF Level 7) in chemical, environmental, civil or related discipline.
• At least 3 years' experience in water, wastewater or a closely related process industry.
• Practical experience in testing, commissioning and fault finding on treatment or pumping systems.
• Ability to prepare and interpret PFDs, P&IDs and process calculations.
• Experience writing functional descriptions, control philosophies or commissioning documentation.
• Basic AutoCAD drafting proficiency.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, and confidence dealing with clients and contractors.
• Willingness to undertake site work and short periods of travel.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering principles to solve technical problems in treatment, pumping and hydraulic systems
• Perform equipment sizing and selection checks for pumps, blowers, valves and process equipment against design criteria
• Prepare and update PFDs, P&IDs and mass balances, and carry out supporting process and hydraulic calculations under the direction of the Senior Process Engineer
• Review vendor submissions and equipment data for technical compliance
• Prepare commissioning plans, test procedures and Proof of Performance (PoP) plans
• Carry out on-site testing, commissioning, performance verification and fault finding
• Monitor system performance against specification, and recommend and implement modifications
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical support to contractors during construction and start-up
• Prepare functional descriptions and process control philosophies
