Are you passionate about clean water and the environment?

Do you have sound design and operations experience?

Have you got the drive to work in the consulting industry?

Do you have a good sense of humour?

Are you looking for flexible working arrangements and an Industry benchmarked salary package?

What will it be like working at CWT?

City Water Technology is a family owned and operated, water and wastewater consultancy that has been established for over 30 years. Our office is located in Gordon, in the northern suburbs of Sydney. We have an inclusive and collaborative management style and flexible working arrangements, with most of us working a hybrid office/WFH arrangement. While the work we do is serious, it is important for the workplace to be fun and enjoyable, so a good sense of humour will help you fit right in.

At CWT we understand that the key to success is our people. We offer career mentoring and development and a diverse range of opportunities to be involved with. We also care about our community; we regularly support charitable organisations and encourage our staff to let us know what causes are close to heart. We are passionate about quality, safety and the environment, and are certified to the relevant international standards, implementing this into everything we do.

How will you get involved?

As part of our Design and Operations team, you will bring along your previous consulting design experience or relevant industry experience and join us to work across drinking water, recycled water and wastewater treatment projects. You will contribute to engineering investigations, treatment process assessment, options development and concept design, working collaboratively with clients and multidisciplinary project teams. You will also contribute to coordinate technical aspects of projects and assist with managing project workflows and budgets.

What are we looking for?

With your degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering and 3-5 years' experience ideally within the local water industry, you are keen for the next challenge in your career. You will be comfortable managing assigned project work with minimal supervision, and working collaboratively with senior engineers, clients and other project team members.

You will be able to undertake:
  • Engineering investigations, options assessments and concept designs for drinking water, recycled water and wastewater treatment systems.
  • Analysis of water quality, process and operational information to assess treatment performance and support the development of engineering solutions.
  • Process calculations and technical assessments to support treatment process and infrastructure design.
  • Evaluation of treatment technologies and equipment, considering water quality, environmental and operational requirements.
  • Preparation of technical reports, process descriptions, design documentation and engineering recommendations.
  • Contribution to technical aspects of projects and project bids with assistance and input from other staff.
  • Liaison with clients, suppliers and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Meeting targets for billability, company profitability and proposal success.
  • Site inspections and other site-based engineering activities, where required.
Key skills and attributes required:
  • Excellent technical report writing and computer skills, with CAD experience desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and an aptitude for working directly with clients, running workshops and other meetings
  • Sound analytical and creative problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on quality, time management and attention to detail.
  • Strong team ethic, with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Robust understanding of water and/or wastewater treatment processes, ideally experienced with applying Australian guidelines.
  • Availability to travel locally and interstate when required
  • Legal right to work in Australia

In return, CWT provides attractive career and lifestyle options including career mentoring, a collaborative work environment, professional development, annual salary reviews and flexible working arrangements.
