Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor or equivalent in engineering with professional designation or CET certification.
• Minimum 5 years progressive municipal engineering experience; supervisory exposure.
• Driver's licence (Class 5) required; willingness to obtain licences within 6 months where applicable.
• Safety certifications or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversees design and construction of capital infrastructure projects and reviews reports for compliance.
• Inspects capital projects and evaluates consultants/contractors; issues stop-work orders as needed.
• Prepares and controls project budgets; supports departmental budgets.
• Directs staff, schedules, trains, and evaluates performance; may administer discipline.
• Provides technical guidance on infrastructure design and standards; coordinates utility upgrades.
