Job summary

Broken Hill City Council is seeking a Projects Engineer to lead civil infrastructure projects from concept to completion. You will develop detailed designs, schedules and cost estimates, and provide technical guidance across departments.

The role requires strong project management, leadership and stakeholder engagement, with a commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement in a local government setting.

Qualifications

• A Civil Engineering degree or equivalent with relevant professional registration or status.
• Experience delivering civil engineering projects from concept to completion.
• Proven leadership and ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of professional and legislative requirements applicable to civil works.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills and ability to manage project reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end delivery of Council's capital works projects, from concept through to completion.
• Prepare detailed designs, schedules and cost estimates for capital, operational and maintenance works.
• Provide specialist technical advice and support across Council's operations.
• Contribute to development and implementation of QA standards, systems and processes.
• Coordinate resources, manage budgets and schedules, oversee contractors and consultants, ensure safety and quality standards are met.
