Job summary

Tetris Group in Emu Plains, NSW is seeking an experienced Engineering & Mechanical Estimator to join our growing industrial services team. You will scope, price and prepare tenders for mechanical engineering, fabrication and maintenance projects across multiple sectors.

You will review drawings, calculate labour, materials and subcontractor costs, liaise with clients and internal teams, and help drive successful bids from estimate to delivery on site and workshop environments.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical, engineering or fabrication estimating.
• Understanding of mechanical installation, fabrication and industrial maintenance works.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and scopes.
• Experience estimating labour, materials, plant and subcontractor costs.
• Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness.
• Good computer and estimating software skills.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple estimates and priorities.
• Practical understanding of project delivery onsite and in workshop.
• Experience within industrial, manufacturing, steel, mining, energy or heavy industry.

Tetris Group is a growing industrial services company delivering mechanical engineering, fabrication, electrical, service and maintenance solutions across a range of industrial sectors.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Engineering & Mechanical Estimator to join our team at our Emu Plains facility.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong mechanical and fabrication knowledge who understands industrial projects and can accurately scope, price and prepare competitive tenders.

About the Role

As our Engineering & Mechanical Estimator, you will work closely with our management, project, workshop and site teams to prepare estimates and tenders for a variety of mechanical engineering, fabrication, maintenance and installation projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing drawings, models, specifications, scopes of work and tender documentation
• Preparing detailed and accurate estimates and quotations
• Calculating labour, materials, equipment and subcontractor requirements
• Obtaining and reviewing supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Preparing tender submissions and proposals
• Conducting site visits to assess and scope potential works
• Identifying project risks, opportunities and potential variations
• Liaising with clients to clarify scopes and project requirements
• Working closely with project managers, supervisors and workshop personnel
• Assisting with project handovers from estimating through to delivery
• Maintaining current knowledge of labour, material and industry pricing
• Assisting with variations and additional works on existing projects
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and suppliers

About You

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous experience in mechanical, engineering or fabrication estimating
• A strong understanding of mechanical installation, fabrication and industrial maintenance works
• The ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and scopes
• Experience estimating labour, materials, plant and subcontractor costs
• Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness
• Good computer and estimating software skills
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• The ability to manage multiple estimates and priorities
• A practical understanding of how projects are delivered onsite and within a workshop environment
• Experience within industrial, manufacturing, steel, mining, energy or heavy industry will be highly regarded
• A mechanical trade or engineering background would also be highly regarded.
