Job summary

WSP, a leading engineering consultancy, seeks an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the design, delivery and growth of overhead transmission line projects across Australia. You'll mentor engineers, drive technical excellence, manage client relationships, and pursue new work while ensuring SHEQ compliance and strong business growth within the Transmission & Distribution business.

This role supports hybrid working across Australia with multiple office locations, offering scope to influence

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Proven Australian market experience in Transmission & Distribution.
• Leadership experience across people and projects.
• Strong background in overhead transmission line design and engineering.
• Experience with PLS-CADD (TOWER/POLE) highly regarded.
• Proven ability in business development, proposals, and winning work.
• Experience delivering projects as a Project Manager or Project Director.
• Commercially astute with a strong understanding of business drivers.
• Engineering registration (CPEng, CEng or equivalent) preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Lead overhead transmission line project design, planning, and execution.
• Mentor engineers and uplift team capability.
• Foster a high-performing, collaborative culture.
• Ensure compliance with Australian and international standards.
• Apply expertise in PLS-CADD, TOWER and/or POLE for quality outcomes.
• Oversee asset lifecycle from planning through construction and maintenance.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and market presence.
