Job summary

Macquarie’s Digital Bank team seeks an Engineering Manager to own design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of product platforms. You will hire, retain and grow an engineering team that aligns with business needs and architecture, mentoring engineers and tackling complex technology issues.

You will lead 20–40 engineers across 2–4 teams, with a strong emphasis on scalable, high‑quality web applications and a product‑driven, Agile mindset. Hybrid working arrangements are supported.

Qualifications

• Experience managing multiple software engineering teams.
• Strong technical background (preferably Java based).
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team with proven success at delivering complex engineering initiatives.
• Product company experience with an understanding of how to build great products in an Agile environment.
• Solid understanding of how to build scalable, maintainable and performant web applications.
• Computer science education or equivalent experience.
• Experience in Wealth Banking Software is valued.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of the team owned product and platforms.
• Own the hiring, retention and growth and development of an engineering team that meets the needs of the business and works well within the overall system architecture.
• Mentor engineers, deep dive into technical problems, and provide leadership on complex technology issues.
• Lead a team of Software Engineers (20-40 Engineers across 2-4 teams).
