Karbon is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Engagements to Payments team. You will lead a team of 8 frontend and backend engineers, report to the VP of Engineering, and guide technical decisions while ensuring delivery of billing features and payments capabilities.

You’ll focus on building quality software, improving delivery speed, and maintaining reliability across distributed systems. This role involves collaboration across time zones and product teams.

Qualifikationen

• Senior or above IC background before moving into management.
• 2+ years as Engineering Manager.
• Strong track record of improving quality and speed through technical and process changes.
• Clear understanding of distributed systems and data integrity.
• Excellent communication across locations and time zones.

Aufgaben

• Hire, onboard and grow the team with clear expectations and regular feedback.
• Raise the bar on technical quality with sound designs and high operational standards.
• Improve delivery speed and quality by reducing lead time and change failure rate, with customers front and centre.
• Own reliability with the team: SLOs, observability, system health and blameless incident reviews.
• Plan and deliver with Product and Tech Leads, balancing new features, improvements, bugs and maintenance.
• Give the team autonomy with clear goals and accountability, and build cross-team relationships.
