Job description

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a small team of 5 engineers.

As Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing a high-performing engineering team, with a strategic focus on AWS cloud infrastructure and .Net development technologies. This role is still very much in touch with the technology, taking ownership of a part of the platform.

You will have a significant impact on the delivery of critical projects within the business.

Key responsibilities

• Leading, mentoring and developing a team of engineers, providing clear direction, feedback and professional development opportunities
• Managing team performance, setting objectives and conducting regular reviews to ensure alignment with business goals
• Overseeing the design, development and deployment of applications leveraging AWS cloud services and .Net technologies
• Collaborating with stakeholders to define technical requirements, project scope and delivery timelines
• Ensuring adherence to coding standards, best practices and quality assurance processes across all projects
• Fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and technical excellence within the engineering team
• Staying current with industry trends and AWS and .Net advancements to guide technology decisions
• Recruiting and retaining top engineering talent to build and strengthen the team

What we're looking for

• Software Engineering background, with recent management or senior technical leadership experience
• Substantial hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including experience with Lambda, SNS, SQS, CDK, Eventbridge, Dynamodb.
• Proven track record of leading engineering teams, including recruiting, developing and retaining talent
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make sound technical and business decisions under pressure
• Knowledge of cloud security, compliance and DevOps practices
