Job summary

Upteam in Sydney, NSW is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a 20+ person engineering organisation through a major technology transformation. This hands-on leader will balance architecture and delivery, mentoring Squad Leads and contributing at code level in Java and MySQL while coordinating offshore teams.

You will own delivery sequencing, vendor relationships, cost optimisation in cloud environments, and drive AI-first ways of working within a modern cloud-native stack. Hybrid work.

The Role

A technology company is recruiting an Engineering Manager to lead engineering operations of an automotive platform. You'll take full ownership of a 20+ person engineering organisation (3 squads + QA, including offshore) during a major technology transformation. This is a hands-on technical leadership role. In the first 6-12 months, you'll combine architecture and solutioning with people leadership, actively contributing at code level while developing your Squad Leads into strong leaders.

What You'll Own
