Job summary

City of Ryde is offering three Engineering Assistant internships for a 6-month program. You will work within the Engineering & Project Delivery team, supporting infrastructure, design and asset management activities while gaining hands-on experience in a Local Government environment.

The role suits students currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering and seeks enthusiasm, reliability, and a willingness to learn alongside experienced engineers and professionals.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering degree (or equivalent).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Current Class C Driver Licence or ability to obtain one during studies.
• Experience using AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar software.
• Surveying experience through university projects or employment.
• Customer-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Assist with engineering investigations and infrastructure projects.
• Support site inspections and field data collection.
• Assist with asset management activities and reporting.
• Support design and drafting activities.
• Assist with project administration and documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers, surveyors and project teams.
• Contribute to projects that benefit the Ryde community.
