Job summary

Airbus is seeking an Aerospace Structures Engineer (Professional) to join our Sydney/Brisbane team. You will provide essential structures engineering support for civil and military fixed-wing aircraft programs and work under guidance to develop and approve safe design solutions for airworthiness and longevity.

With 5+ years in aerospace structures, you’ll master static strength analyses, airframe repair, and fatigue/damage tolerance work using FEM (Hyperworks/Patran) and CATIA V5, while

Qualifications

• 5+ years of aerospace structures experience.
• Experience with static strength analysis and airframe repair.
• Familiarity with fatigue and damage tolerance analysis is valued.
• Proficiency with FEM tools (Hyperworks/Patran) and CATIA V5 is valued.
• Knowledge of airframe materials, manufacturing processes, and through-life sustainment.

Aerospace Structures Engineer (Professional)

Location: Sydney and Brisbane

About the Opportunity

Due to continued growth, we have multiple positions available for Structures Engineers to join our dynamic Structures and Technical Services Team in Sydney and Brisbane. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in providing essential structures engineering support to civil or military fixed-wing aircraft programs.

Reporting to your Team Lead and guided by your Technical Lead, you'll leverage your expertise in aircraft structures to develop, approve, and help deliver safe, practical, and agile design solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for talented engineers to contribute directly to the airworthiness and longevity of critical aerospace assets.

What You'll Bring

To thrive in this role, you'll be a proactive and collaborative engineer with a solid foundation in aerospace structures. You'll be comfortable working both independently and as part of a high-performing team in a continuous improvement environment.

We're looking for team members who demonstrates:

• 5+ years of aerospace structures experience
• This includes:
  • Static strength analysis
  • Airframe repair experience
  • Fatigue and damage tolerance analysis (highly valued)
  • Proficiency with FEM (Hyperworks / Patran) and CATIA V5 (highly valued)
• Practical knowledge of airframe structural principles, encompassing materials, manufacturing processes, and through-life airframe sustainment. An awareness of commercial aspects is also valuable.
• Strong understanding of Continued and Continuing airworthiness.
• Familiarity with applicable aviation legislation and regulations (e.g., DASR, EASA, CASA, FAA, Transport Canada) and industry best practices.
• A Bachelor of Engineering in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, or a related discipline from a nationally accredited program, or equivalent.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build lasting, collaborative relationships with colleagues and cross-functional teams, and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
