Job summary

WesTrac’s Engine Components team in South Guildford, WA, is seeking a skilled technician to disassemble, inspect, and rebuild CAT engine components to OEM specs. You will diagnose faults, use Caterpillar tooling, and maintain detailed service records in a safety-focused workshop.

You’ll join a supportive team that emphasizes knowledge sharing, mentoring, and continuous development while contributing to mining, construction, and infrastructure sectors across Australia.

Qualifications

• Must hold Australian recognised Mechanical Trade Certificate.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Experience completing mechanical rebuilds, overhauls, component change-outs, or major repairs.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and maintain safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, inspect, assess, and assemble Cat engine components to OEM specifications.
• Diagnose faults and identify repair requirements.
• Work with Caterpillar systems, tooling and technology.
• Maintain accurate service reports and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with a skilled team in a safety-focused workshop environment.
