Job summary

Oliver Wyman Australia seeks an Associate/Engagement Manager for Financial Services to help top banks and insurers tackle strategic issues. You will lead small teams, break down complex problems, and deliver actionable recommendations in collaboration with clients and colleagues.

The role offers a hybrid work model in Sydney or Melbourne, with travel and a strong emphasis on analytical rigor, problem solving, and clear communication. 4–8 years FS experience and industry knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years FS experience, ideally with a top-tier strategy consulting firm or industry experience
• In-depth knowledge of the sector gained through industry or consultancy
• Strong analytical and synthesis skills to identify trends and present recommendations
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in formal and informal settings
• Willingness to travel and take initiative to learn new skills and apply them

Responsibilities

• Break down complex problems into discrete tasks and direct junior consultants to key elements
• Plan and execute analyses and identify core issues to craft recommendations
• Work side by side with clients and project team to move projects forward and manage small teams
