Job summary

UNSW is seeking an Engagement and Communications Officer to provide proactive project support across the Faculty of Engineering and its head office. The role reports to the Senior Manager, External Engagement with a dotted line to School Managers, and has no direct reports.

A 2-year contract with full-time hours (35 per week) is offered, located at Kensington, Sydney, Australia. Salary Level 6: $108,021–$115,233 per annum plus 17% superannuation.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
• Demonstrated experience in writing copy and content creation for online platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram as well as website copy in a professional setting.
• Advanced time management, organisational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to meet deadlines.
• Proven ability to develop and implement engagement initiatives that increase participation, strengthen relationships and support organisational objectives.
• Demonstrated success in event coordination.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to provide effective customer service and support to stakeholders at all levels.
• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences and communicate with influence.
• Demonstrated capacity to work effectively in a team, preferably within a stakeholder-driven environment.
• Demonstrated stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build productive relationships across academic, professional and external communities.
• Highly proficient computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications, in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert project support across the Engineering faculties and campus offices.
• Assist in developing and delivering engagement initiatives to increase participation and strengthen relationships.
• Coordinate events and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across academic and external communities.
• Produce professional copy and online content for social media, websites and outreach materials.
