Job summary

AGL Energy in Melbourne is seeking an Energy Solutions Commercial Analyst for a 12-month max-term opportunity to develop decarbonisation solutions for business customers through financial and energy market modelling.

You'll work across solar, batteries, electrification and EV charging, building business cases, analysing data and supporting cross-functional teams to optimise project performance and deliver sustainable energy outcomes for Australian businesses.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or related discipline.
• Tenured experience across solar, battery storage and Australian energy markets.
• Strong analytical, financial modelling and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Excel with the ability to interpret and present complex data insights.
• Commercially minded with a passion for sustainable energy and the energy transition.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop commercial models and business cases for decarbonisation opportunities.
• Analyse energy, emissions and financial data to deliver tailored sustainable energy solutions.
• Build expertise in techno-commercial modelling tools to assess integrated energy solutions.
• Evaluate project performance, costs, margins and delivery outcomes, identifying improvement opportunities.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support customer energy transition and net zero initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement through data analysis, reporting and optimisation of tools, processes and project outcomes.

About the role

Energy Solutions Commercial Analyst - 12 Month Max term opportunity As a Commercial Analyst, you'll support the development of innovative decarbonisation solutions for AGL's business customers through financial, commercial and energy market modelling. Working across solutions including solar, batteries, electrification, EV charging and virtual power plants, you'll provide commercial insights, build business cases and help optimise project performance.
