Job summary

Westmead Hospital's Endoscopy Unit is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in a fast-paced specialist setting. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to support positive patient outcomes and maintain safety and continuous improvement.

The role involves mentoring junior staff, coordinating care, and upholding accurate clinical documentation, with ongoing learning and development opportunities within NSW Health.

Qualifications

• Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Post-graduate experience in an acute hospital. Endoscopy or perioperative services experience preferable.
• Ability to organise and prioritise work.
• Effective communication skills—written and verbal.
• Leadership to junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Assess, monitor and respond to changing patient conditions.
• Collaborate with patients, families and healthcare professionals to plan and coordinate care.
• Provide clinical guidance, mentoring and supervision to nursing staff and students.
• Advocate for patients and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Perform duties including lead apron use as required by NSW Nurses and Midwives Award.
