Job summary

NSW Health’s Endoscopy Unit at Blacktown Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver safe, evidence-based endoscopy nursing care and coordinate patient journeys in a fast-paced setting.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, provide education and support to patients and families, and contribute to positive health outcomes while maintaining high standards of clinical excellence and compassionate care in the Western Sydney community.

Qualifications

• Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
• Significant post graduate experience in an acute hospital.
• Recent Endoscopy or perioperative services experience (Scrub, Scout, Anaesthetics, PACU & DPU) preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work; effective communication skills.

What you'll be doing

As a Registered Nurse within the Endoscopy Unit, you will provide safe, evidence based and person centred care while supporting patients and families throughout their healthcare journey. You will play an important role in coordinating care, responding to changing patient needs and contributing to a positive team culture.

Registration: Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Selection Criteria

• Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA)
• Significant post graduate experience in an acute hospital. Recent experience in Endoscopy or Perioperative Services (Scrub, Scout, Anaesthetics, PACU & DPU) nursing preferable.
• Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work
• Demonstrated effective communication skills- written and verbal
• Effective interpersonal skills showing initiative and leadership to junior members of the team
• Evidence of participation in own professional development and commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills, and willingness to apply and share professional expertise with colleagues
• Experience with Provation or SurgiNet IT applications preferable
