Job summary

Helping Hand Aged Care is seeking a Payroll Officer in Hindmarsh, SA. You will ensure employees are paid accurately and on time within the Workforce Operations team, interpreting industrial awards and agreements and maintaining payroll records.

You’ll respond to employee enquiries, support the Payroll Team Leader with end of month tasks, and contribute to continuous improvement of payroll services while leveraging your experience with payroll software and Microsoft products.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Demonstrated end-to-end payroll experience within a medium to large organisation.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and technical know-how.
• Experience with payroll software systems and Microsoft products.
• Solid knowledge of industrial awards, agreements and employment conditions.
• High initiative, flexibility, time management and organisation, with excellent communication.
• Strong relationship-building skills for internal and external requests.
• Valid NDIS check or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and ensure compliance with awards/agreements to keep payroll conditions and benefits accurate.
• Apply payroll conditions and benefits, policies and procedures and support managers and staff with queries.
• Assist Payroll Team Leader with end of month, end of FBT year and end of financial year tasks.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of fortnightly wages/salaries.
• Ensure accurate calculations for redundancy, backpay, increments and terminations under guidance.
