Job summary

MJD Recruitment Pty is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to own the end-to-end payroll function in a standalone role within a professional services environment. This Melbourne CBD position requires accuracy, autonomy and a strong eye for process improvements.

You will manage payroll across multiple entities, ensuring PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation and WorkCover compliance, preparing reconciliations and reporting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in payroll, ideally in legal or professional services.
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and end-to-end processing.
• Intermediate Excel skills and ability to manage multi-entity payroll across states.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end monthly payroll processing for multiple entities.
• Ensure payroll compliance (PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation, WorkCover).
• Prepare monthly and annual reconciliations and payroll reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and support broader projects.
