Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking a Data Scientist with strong data engineering capabilities to take projects from raw source systems to production-ready data products and ML solutions.

This role bridges data engineering, analytics and operationalised AI within our Data & Digital team in Australia. You'll design, build and deploy scalable data and machine learning solutions for infrastructure clients, leveraging Snowflake, Databricks and Azure, while delivering end-to-end projects and engaging with

Qualifications

• Strong Python development skills with packaging, testing, version control and clean code.
• Advanced SQL with optimisation, data modelling and complex transformations.
• Production experience with Snowflake, Databricks or Azure Data Services.
• Experience with dbt, Airflow or similar orchestration tools.
• Solid understanding of statistics and machine learning techniques.
• Experience operationalising data products and ML models in production.

Responsibilities

• Design and build ingestion pipelines from client source systems into cloud platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Azure).
• Develop layered data architectures (raw, staging, curated).
• Build and deploy ML models, production-ready and monitored.
• Establish CI/CD, secrets management and automation for data pipelines.
• Assess data maturity, quality and governance; provide strategic recommendations.
• Deliver end-to-end projects from discovery to client handover.
• Support proposals with technical input for bids and advisory work.
• Collaborate with teams across transport, water, energy, defence and environment.
