Job summary

The Clarence Hotel Sydney is seeking a practical Maintenance Technician/Handyman to support day-to-day upkeep across guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house spaces. This is a hands-on, part-time role with 15-18 hours per week across Monday, Wednesday and Friday, plus occasional weekends.

Key responsibilities include preventative maintenance, basic plumbing, painting and general repairs, with a focus on safety and brand standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality or heritage building environments.
• Familiarity with hotel maintenance management systems such as hub os.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out preventative maintenance across guest rooms and public areas.
• Performing general repairs and maintenance as required.
• Using and maintaining general tools and equipment confidently and safely.
• Completing basic plumbing tasks, including unblocking drains and attending to minor leaks.
• Performing basic painting, patching and general repair work.
• Responding to reactive maintenance requests as they arise.
• Assisting with contractor coordination and site access, where required.
• Ensuring all maintenance work is completed to hotel and brand standards.
• Accurately recording completed maintenance tasks and reporting any outstanding issues.
• Working safely and maintaining a clean and organised work environment.
• Holding a White Card and being prepared to undertake relevant maintenance duties.

Job Description

Approximately 15 - 18 hours per week across Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with occasional weekend availability required.
