Job summary

Uniting in Ballarat is seeking a Youth Alcohol & Other Drug (AOD) Worker to provide compassionate, client-centred support to young people seeking voluntary withdrawal and/or respite from alcohol and other drug use.

You’ll help create a safe, welcoming and culturally inclusive environment, supporting young people’s wellbeing, recovery goals and connection with appropriate services and ongoing care.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Youth Work, Psychology, Nursing, Allied Health, or a related field.
• Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD), completion of core competencies, or willingness to complete within 12 months of employment.
• Competencies in dual diagnosis, or willingness to complete within 24 months of employment.
• Knowledge of the Alcohol and Other Drug sector, including the relationship with the Forensic AOD System and Central Intake Services.
• Strong communication, engagement, and interpersonal skills with young people and stakeholders.
