Job summary

Mission Australia is seeking dedicated Residential Youth Workers to support young people aged 16 to 24 in SHHS NSW, across residential rehabilitation and withdrawal services. The role offers part-time and fixed-term contracts with a 24/7 roster, enabling you to make a real difference in recovery journeys.

As a Residential Youth Worker, you will provide compassionate supervision, help develop life skills, and collaborate with Case Managers to plan participant goals in a structured, supportive

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification and/or experience working with young people in community, residential or human services settings.
• Knowledge of youth mental health, alcohol and other drug recovery, trauma-informed practice and participant-centred support.
• Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and duty of care for young people.
• Current NSW Driver Licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate support and supervision to young people while ensuring safety and wellbeing.
• Assist with intake, admission and orientation for new participants entering the program.
• Facilitate activities that build interpersonal, life and independent living skills.
• Support recreational, educational and therapeutic group activities.
• Assist with household tasks, meal preparation and maintaining living environments.
• Maintain participant records including progress notes and incident reports.
• Collaborate with Case Managers and team members to support participant goals and case planning.
• Respond to incidents and challenging situations per policies and procedures.
