Job summary

Kirinari Community Services seeks an experienced Disability Support Worker to join a skilled team delivering complex supports across community, respite and day program environments. The role suits someone confident, proactive and experienced with behaviours of concern.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience supporting people with complex disabilities or behaviours of concern.
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or willingness to obtain).
• Current Driver Licence.
• Australian Working Rights.
• Ability to follow Behaviour Support Plans and procedures.
• Experience with personal care, medication support and manual handling.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Commitment to customer-specific training and buddy shifts.

Responsibilities

• Participate in community and respite activities safely.
• Provide personal care with dignity and respect.
• Build confidence through predictable, consistent support.
• Access meaningful activities and experiences for clients.
• Exercise choice, control and independence wherever possible.
• Follow Behaviour Support Plans and proactive support strategies.
• Recognise triggers and early signs of escalation.
• Provide medication support in line with procedures.
• Complete safe transfers and manual handling tasks.
• Complete accurate documentation and progress notes.
• Follow customer-specific support plans and training requirements.
