Job summary

UnitingCare in Gladstone invites applications for a Child and Family Case Worker within the FaDS team. The role focuses on intensive in‑home support and collaborative case planning for families at risk of entering child protection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in social work, human services, psychology or related discipline preferred.
• Diploma in a related field and at least two years’ experience working as a Case Worker will also be considered.
• Current knowledge of domestic and family violence and its impact on children.
• Understanding of First Nations peoples and cultures, including related issues.
• Commitment to culturally safe practice.
• Knowledge of attachment theory and trauma‑informed practice.
• Current Queensland Working with Children Check/Blue Card.
• Current open Queensland driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead case management with families in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Conduct assessments and develop collaborative case plans prioritising presenting concerns.
• Provide in-home therapeutic support and practical assistance to families with complex needs.
• Assist families to access appropriate specialist services.
