Job summary

Mylestones Solutions in Cairns is seeking an Employment Support Worker to help people with disabilities find meaningful employment through community gardening and grounds maintenance.

You will work hands-on with participants, developing practical skills, supervising garden crews, ensuring safety, and coordinating resources to deliver high-quality services. This role offers pathways for growth within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience or knowledge in gardening, horticulture, or grounds maintenance.
• Great listening and respectful communication skills.
• A passion for people and a focus on great customer service.
• A commitment to working together to deliver great outcomes
• Blue Card & NDIS Worker Screening Check (we can help you get these).
• Driver’s licence and/or reliable transport.

Responsibilities

• Support and coach supported employees to build skills, independence, and workplace capability.
• Using and maintaining gardening and horticultural equipment in line with safety requirements.
• Lead and supervise garden crew operations to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
• Monitor employee progress and performance, providing regular feedback and collaborating with stakeholders to support development outcome.
• Prepare quotations, assess customer requirements, and coordinate resources to deliver quality gardening and grounds maintenance services.
