Job summary

Mylestones Solutions in Cairns is seeking a dedicated Employment Support Worker to assist participants with disability by developing practical skills and work readiness through hands-on gardening and grounds maintenance.

You'll lead garden crew operations, coach participants, ensure safety, manage resources, and build strong relationships with stakeholders for positive outcomes. A Blue Card and NDIS check are preferred; driver’s license is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Experience or knowledge in gardening, horticulture, or grounds maintenance.
• Great listening and respectful communication skills.
• A passion for people and a focus on great customer service.
• A commitment to working together to deliver great outcomes
• Blue Card & NDIS Worker Screening Check (we can help you get these).
• Driver’s licence and/or reliable transport.

Responsibilities

• Support and coach participants to build skills, independence, and workplace capability.
• Using and maintaining gardening and horticultural equipment in line with safety requirements.
• Lead and supervise garden crew operations to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
• Monitor employee progress and performance, providing regular feedback and collaborating with stakeholders to support development outcomes.
• Prepare quotations, assess customer requirements, and coordinate resources to deliver quality gardening and grounds maintenance services.
