Job summary

LEAP is seeking a Forms Designer to join the Employment Law team, focusing on up-to-date, fully automated forms and precedents for employment matters. You’ll be part of a cross-functional group of legal professionals and software engineers, contributing to practical, compliant documentation used by employment lawyers.

You’ll work under supervision to transition into the role, leveraging your experience with legal documents and your interest in technology.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ experience supporting a legal practice.
  • Strong Microsoft Word skills and an enjoyment of formatting and working with documents.
  • Familiarity with legal documents through preparing, formatting, proofreading, filing or supporting their use in practice.
  • An understanding of the parties, information and processes involved in legal matters.
  • An interest in technology and an enthusiasm for learning new systems and developing technical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Create, update and maintain automated employment law forms and precedents.
  • Research official forms and procedural information, working with the team’s legal specialists to understand and implement required updates.
  • Format and proofread documents to maintain accuracy, consistency and professional presentation.
  • Use LEAP’s automation tools to populate documents with information recorded in legal matters.
  • Review feedback from clients and colleagues, investigate issues and contribute to improvements.
  • Learn to use JavaScript to support dynamic document content and automation, with training provided.
  • Test automated documents, including data fields, conditional content and formatting, and resolve issues with support from the team.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to improve employment law content and matter types.
  • Share knowledge and support colleagues across our Content teams.

The Employment Law teamis a specialist division within LEAP, focused on building software foremploymentlawyers.We’rea cross‑functional team of legal professionals, software engineers, designers, and client‑focused specialists, working closely together to deliver practical productsused every day by law firms practising in employment law.

Our work is guided by in‑house lawyers and informed by a well‑established client feedback function, ensuring our products are shaped by real legal practice and continue to evolve in line with how lawyersactually work.

You’lljoin asthe Employment Law team’s new Forms Designer,helping to ensure our legal forms and precedents are always current,compliantand legallyappropriate.You’lluse your experience working with legal documents to help create andmaintainautomated forms and precedents that makeeverydaywork easier for employment lawyers.

What you'll do

Legislation can change regularly, along with legal forms. The efficiency we offer our clients relies on up‑to‑date content, with legal forms at the forefront.You’llput your passion for Microsoft Word to work, ensuring your portfolio of legal forms and precedents is up to date with legislation, fully automated and ready for our clients to use.

You’llreceive a structured training program and ongoing guidance from the Content Manager and content specialists to help you transition into the role and build confidence using our content and automation tools.You’lluse these tools tomaintainour comprehensive library of legal content, helping law firms manage matters effectively and produce legal documentation quickly and consistently.

With training and support, you will:

  • Create, update and maintain automated employment law forms and precedents.
  • Research official forms and procedural information, working with the team’s legal specialists to understand and implement required updates.
  • Format and proofread documents tomaintainaccuracy,consistencyand professional presentation.
  • Use LEAP’s automation tools to populate documents with information recorded in legal matters.

What you'll bring

You may be a legal secretary or paralegal looking to apply your experience in a SaaS business.

We’relooking for:

  • 3-5 years’ experience supporting a legal practice.
  • Strong Microsoft Word skills and an enjoyment of formatting and working with documents.
  • Familiarity with legal documents through preparing, formatting, proofreading,filingor supporting their use in practice.
  • An understanding of the parties, information and processes involved in legal matters.
  • An interest in technology and an enthusiasm for learning new systems and developing technical skills.
The following would be highly regarded:
  • Experience supporting an employment or workplace law practice.
  • Familiarity with Fair Work Commission forms and processes.
  • Familiarity with employment contracts, workplace policies, correspondence, settlement documents, and court or tribunal forms.
  • Experience using LEAP, other legal practice managementsoftwareor document automation tools.
