Job summary

Interact Australia in Victoria is seeking an Employment Consultant to help participants achieve sustainable employment through the Inclusive Employment Australia program. You will identify opportunities and place candidates with local employers.

Engaging with jobseekers, you’ll develop tailored employment plans, provide pre-employment preparation, and offer ongoing post-placement support while building strong community relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience in employment services, recruitment, disability support, or related sectors.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Solutions-focused approach and ability to motivate others.
• Willingness to learn and grow within the industry.
• Ability to prioritise workload, use initiative and multi-task.
• High level of computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Engage with jobseekers to understand goals, skills, and support needs.
• Develop tailored employment plans and provide pre-employment preparation.
• Partner with employers to identify inclusive opportunities and place candidates.
• Build strong relationships with community organisations and stakeholders.
• Provide ongoing post-placement support to employees and employers.
• Address workplace adjustments, mentoring, and training needs to ensure success.
• Monitor progress and intervene to overcome barriers to retention.
• Maintain accurate records and compliance with program requirements.
