Job summary

You will build relationships, assess skills and goals, and provide practical, personalised support to help participants become job-ready and achieve sustainable employment outcomes.

As part of genU, you will work within a profit-for-purpose organisation focused on removing barriers to employment.

MatchWorks is looking for an Employment Coach who is passionate about supporting people with disability, injury, illness, or other vocational barriers on their journey to meaningful employment through the Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) program. You’ll build strong relationships with participants, understand their skills, experience, and goals, and provide practical, personalised support to help them become job ready and achieve sustainable employment outcomes.

As part of genU we’re a profit-for-purpose organisation. Our focus at MatchWorks is to remove barriers to employment and help job seekers to find meaningful work and support them to sustain employment and build careers. We do this through programs and initiatives including our government-funded Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) and Workforce Australia services.

What you’ll do

As an Employment Coach in our Inclusive Employment Australia team you’ll:

• Work with your participants to understand their strengths and goals to match them with the right employment opportunities
• Bridge the gap between job seekers and local employers by promoting their unique skills and strengths
• Link participants with training, health, and community supports for long-term success
• Support participants to develop practical career plans that unlock their potential and boost confidence

What you’ll bring

• Highly developed communication skills to provide relevant supports to participants and external stakeholders
• Ability to provide accurate and timely documentation and compliance records in accordance with Workforce Australia requirements
• A collaborative team member who brings professionalism, positivity, and a mature approach to teamwork

(You’ll also need an NDIS Worker Screening Check and Orientation Module Certificate – but don’t worry, we’ll help guide you through this.)

• Experience in a customer service, recruitment or employment consultancy setting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems
