Job summary

Stockland is seeking an Employee Relations Specialist to provide expert ER advice and support across the organisation from our Sydney base. This permanent full-time role partners with leaders to navigate complex workplace matters, interpret employment law, and foster a fair, compliant workplace.

You’ll help build leadership capability, support strategic ER initiatives, and contribute to positive employee experiences through trusted guidance and policy development.

Qualifications

  • Extensive ER/HR case management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and Fair Work framework.
  • Experience drafting and guiding policies and procedures.

  • Managing complex employee relations matters, including performance, conduct, grievance and anti-discrimination cases.
  • Providing practical, commercially focused advice to leaders on workplace relations and employment legislation.
  • Interpreting and applying employment legislation, awards, enterprise agreements and organizational policies.

As a Employee Relations Specialist, you will play a key role in delivering expert employee relations advice and support across Stockland. Working within our People & Culture team, you will partner with leaders and stakeholders to navigate complex workplace matters, provide practical guidance on employment legislation, and help foster a fair, respectful, and compliant workplace. This permanent full-time Sydney-based opportunity offers the chance to influence positive people outcomes, contribute to strategic ER initiatives, and make a meaningful impact on the employee experience across the organisation.

An experienced Employee Relations Specialist who is passionate about creating positive workplace experiences and building leadership capability through trusted advice and partnership.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you'll provide specialist employee relations support across a broad range of workplace matters while partnering closely with leaders and stakeholders throughout the business. You'll play an important role in maintaining a fair and compliant workplace, managing complex cases and contributing to strategic people initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing complex employee relations matters, including performance, conduct, grievance, Fair Work and anti-discrimination cases.
  • Providing practical, commercially focused advice to leaders on workplace relations and employment legislation.
  • Interpreting and applying employment legislation, awards, enterprise agreements and organisational policies.
  • Supporting organisational readiness and compliance in response to legislative and industrial relations reforms.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, policy updates and strategic People & Culture projects.

Experience & Skills That Count
  • Extensive experience in Employee Relations, Workplace Relations or a HR Business Partner role with significant ER case management exposure.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, industrial relations frameworks and the Fair Work system.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex workplace matters, including performance, conduct, grievances, Fair Work claims and anti-discrimination matters.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to provide pragmatic and commercially focused advice.
  • Demonstrated experience in drafting, reviewing and maintaining employee relations policies, procedures and guidance materials to support legislative compliance and business outcomes.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute to policy development, process improvement and organisational projects.
