Job summary

Transdev is seeking an Employee Relations Business Partner to support Sydney's light rail operations. You will work across depots to shape workforce performance, uplift management effectiveness, and drive employee experience.

The role focuses on complex ER/IR matters, compliance with employment laws and enterprise agreements, and enabling organisational change within People & Culture. The successful candidate will bring a HR qualification and proven partnership experience in a unionised setting,

Employee Relations Business Partner – Light Rail

The role

Working across our 3 depots (Randwick, Pyrmont & Parramatta), you will work closely with our Front-Line Team Leaders and Managers to shape workforce performance and capability, uplift management effectiveness, and drive a positive employee experience across the organisation. There will be a focus on managing complex employee and industrial relations matters and ensuring compliance with employment legislation and enterprise agreements. As part of the People & Culture team you will have the opportunity to support organisational change and continuous improvement, whilst contributing to our strategy and organisational performance.

What you’ll bring

Experience & Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or related discipline
  • Strong HR business partnering experience in a complex or unionised environment
  • Demonstrated experience managing ER/IR matters

Skills & Capability

  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment law and industrial frameworks
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, influencing and coaching skills
  • High-level communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution capability
  • Proven ability to lead change and drive outcomes in a fast-paced environment
