Job summary

Coast and Country Community Services – Nowra NSW is seeking a Direct Care Worker to provide safe, respectful and person-centered support to clients and participants across our service in the Shoalhaven/Illawarra area. This role supports people to stay connected, independent and involved in their community.

Qualifications

• Current NSW C Class Driver Licence or higher and held for 12 months or more.
• Current First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain one within the agreed timeframe.
• Current National Police Check, NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or willingness to obtain).
• Working with Children Check (where applicable) and current immunisation requirements; right to work in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, respectful and responsive support to clients and participants in line with their needs, preferences and service arrangements.
• Deliver practical support across CCCS services including transport, access, social support, Community Companions, NDIS-related supports and ASTP.
• Provide safe transport and help clients access appointments, shopping, social activities.
• Complete vehicle checks, safety checks and hygiene requirements, and follow WHS, infection control, privacy and confidentiality requirements.
• Identify and report concerns about client wellbeing, incidents, hazards and service risks, and escalate urgent matters promptly.
• Complete accurate shift notes, service records and incident reports within required timeframes.
• Work cooperatively with CCCS employees, volunteers and leaders, and take part in training, supervision and team meetings.
