Job summary

Advance Trainee – Emergency Medicine is available at Dubbo Health Service, part of the Western NSW Local Health District. The ED is ACEM/ACRRM accredited, offering traineeships with up to 24 months of ACEM training and 12 months of ACRRM advanced skills time.

The role includes structured teaching, secondments to major tertiary centers, and a pathway to fellowship examinations, within a supportive rural hospital environment.

Qualifications

  • MBBS or equivalent.
  • Currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Completion of at least three postgraduate years of medical practice.
  • Valid NSW Working with Children check.
  • Cleared National Police check.
  • Aged Care Check for Australian Government funded positions.
  • Vaccination evidence per NSW Health policy.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in Emergency Medicine training program (ACEM/ACRRM) and associated teaching sessions.
  • Engage in clinical duties in the Emergency Department at Dubbo Health Service.
  • Attend regular protected teaching sessions ( Thursdays 2pm–6pm).
  • Participate in secondment arrangements to partner hospitals as required.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary team care and patient management in a rural setting.
