Job summary

Hunter New England Local Health District in Armidale, NSW, invites applications for a temporary full-time Advanced Training position in General and Acute Care Medicine. The role offers clinical exposure across a broad case mix within a rural hospital and a commitment to education and research.

The successful candidate will be MBBS qualified, registered with the Medical Board of Australia, and eligible for RACP Advanced Training.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Eligible for Advanced Training in General and Acute Care Medicine, RACP, by successful completion of both written and clinical examinations.
• Demonstrated teamwork, time management and problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary clinical team.
• Demonstrated competency in clinical skills including effective assessment, care planning, care provision, case management and management of unstable patients.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment using excellent clinical skills and judgement.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with patients, their families, and health professionals.
• Demonstrated commitment to General and Acute Care Medicine Advanced Training program including education, research and training.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high standard of clinical care to patients under supervision while developing General and Acute Care Medicine expertise.
• Work within other facilities as part of an approved arrangement with the employer, including rural locations.
