Job summary
NSW Health in Sydney's western region invites applications for a Senior Resident Medical Officer in the Emergency Department at Blacktown & Mt Druitt Hospitals. The role delivers clinical care under supervision in a busy, complex setting and offers exposure to critical care with autonomous practice aligned to experience. You will teach JMO/medical students and may participate in research and AMC-WBA activities.
Qualifications
MBBS or equivalent; currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
Advanced ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Advanced written and verbal communication skills for patients, families and healthcare team.
Advanced organisational and time management skills with competing priorities.
ALS training completed within 3 months of appointment.
Evidence of continuing professional development and commitment to self-education.
Demonstrated competency in clinical skills including ALS procedures and interpretation of investigations.
Willingness to work 7 days per week on a 24-hour shift roster.
Responsibilities
Provide clinical care in the Emergency Department under supervision in a complex environment.
Participate in teaching Junior Medical Officers and Medical Students, and in research where appropriate.
Contribute to AMC-WBA accreditation activities at Blacktown & Mt Druitt Hospitals.
