Job summary

NSW Health invites applications for the Resident Medical Officer (RMO) role based at Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospital. This temporary, adhoc position involves 38 hours per week and a rotational schedule across listed hospitals, under supervision of senior practitioners.

You will provide medical care within a multidisciplinary team, develop clinical decision-making skills, and complete required training including ALS within 6 months of appointment. Applications close 8 October 2026.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent, registered or eligible with the Medical Board of Australia.
• Minimum 12 months post-graduate hospital experience in Australia (not as an observer).
• Ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication with patients, families and health care team.
• Strong organisational and time management skills to manage competing priorities.
• Ability to recognise acutely unwell patients and initiate immediate management including Basic Life Support.
• ALS completion or commitment to complete within 6 months of appointment.
